Natural slate roof repair and restoration for historic churches, estates and landmark buildings.

Roof system
Slate Roofing explained
Slate is natural stone, split from metamorphic rock into thin roofing shingles. A quality slate roof can last 75 to well over 100 years.
Most slate roofs fail at the flashing and fasteners, not the stone. Careful repair keeps the original character of a historic building while making it watertight again.

Questions
Slate FAQ
Can you match my slate?
We source slate to match color, size and thickness as closely as possible, often from reclaimed stock for older roofs.
Is slate repair worth it?
Usually. The stone itself often has decades of life left, so repairing flashing and fasteners is far cheaper than replacement.
Why not just seal leaks with tar?
Tar traps water and makes future repairs harder. Proper slate repairs use matched slate and metal flashing.
